Strong Saturday Morning Storms Cause Wind Damage

A line of strong thunderstorms moved through southeast Louisiana Saturday morning, leaving behind multiple reports of damage from strong winds.

Local law enforcement reported trees down in multiple locations in Ascension Parish including Gonzales, Prairieville, Sorrento and St. Amant.

In East Baton Rouge Parish, the Central Fire Department reported multiple trees down, including one that fell on a trailer on Gemini Drive. The occupant suffered minor injuries.

In St. Charles Parish, authorities reported trees down in Luling, Paradis and Kilona, while reports of trees and power lines down sprinkled in from St. Tammany and Jefferson parishes.

The National Weather Service also reported video of a waterspout near Gulfport.

The stormy weather caused a delay to the start of Saturday's performances at Jazz Fest.
