A fleet of snow plows from Indiana will help clear the streets of New Orleans following Tuesday's historic snowfall.

Homeland Security Director Collin Arnold says the city hired 14 snow plows in an emergency procurement.

After clearing the main bridges and arteries, the crews will check with the police to find out where they're needed most.

Arnold says the city will pay $500 per truck per hour for 24 hours, which may be extended to 48 hours.

The city will also pay to feed and house the snow plow crews.
